Five Scrabble Variants, One Free Account
Each mode uses the same 15×15 board and word-formation rules, but the tile bag, bingo bonus, and board layout differ. Try them all to find the one that matches your style.
Classic
The original Scrabble-rules experience. 100 tiles in the bag, the familiar cross-shaped premium-square layout, and a +50 bonus for playing all seven tiles from your rack in a single turn. TWL06 dictionary by default.
Friends (WWF Rules)
Compatible with Words With Friends rules and tile values. 104 tiles with more Es and Ss makes higher-scoring plays common. The lower +35 bingo encourages tactical mid-length plays instead of waiting for the perfect 7-letter.
Feud (Wordfeud Rules)
Wordfeud-compatible rules with the classic Nordic-style distribution (13 Es) and a +40 bingo bonus. Great for players who want a slightly higher reward for full-rack plays without the classic +50 ceiling.
Lexy (Lexulous Rules)
Lexulous-compatible eight-tile rack changes everything — more letters mean more bingo opportunities, cross-word setups, and defensive flexibility. +40 for a seven-tile play, +50 for using all eight tiles at once.
Speed Round
The twitchy one. Sixty-second turn timer, auto-pass on timeout, first player to 200 points wins. Ideal for coffee-break matches or when you want to feel your pulse. Uses the Puzz Original 107-tile Ring pattern board for a slightly unfamiliar twist.
vs AI
Practice against a computer opponent on Classic variant rules. Three difficulty levels — Easy plays common words, Medium varies between short and long, Hard hunts for bingos and blocks your plays. Perfect warmup before jumping into ranked multiplayer.

From Zero to First Bingo in Under a Minute
All five variants share the same core gameplay loop. Pick a variant, match with an opponent, play words.
Pick a Variant
Choose from Classic, WWF rules, Wordfeud, 8-tile mode, Speed Round, or vs AI. No signup required to start playing.
Draw Your Rack
You start with 7 tiles (or 8 in Lexulous mode). First move must cover the center square (7,7).
Form Words
Drop tiles on the board to form horizontal or vertical words. New tiles must connect to existing words (the "anchor" rule).
Score & Refill
Premium squares multiply individual letters (DL/TL) or whole words (DW/TW). Use all your tiles in one turn to earn the variant's bingo bonus.

Are these the real Scrabble / Words With Friends / Wordfeud / Lexulous games?
They are compatible-rules variants that match the tile distributions, values, bingo bonuses, and rack sizes published for each game. "Scrabble" is a registered trademark of Hasbro (US) and Mattel (international), "Words With Friends" is a trademark of Zynga, "Wordfeud" is owned by Bertheussen IT, and "Lexulous" is owned by Lexulous. Puzz.com is not affiliated with any of those companies. We offer these modes so players familiar with each ruleset can play with their preferred conventions.
What dictionary is used to validate words?
Classic, Wordfeud, Lexulous, and vs AI use TWL06 (the official Scrabble dictionary in North America). Friends uses the WWF dictionary where supported. You can toggle to SOWPODS (international tournament dictionary) in the room options for any variant.
How does the bingo bonus work?
A "bingo" is playing all your rack tiles in a single turn. Classic and Speed Round give you +50 points. Wordfeud gives +40. Friends gives +35. Lexy gives +40 for a 7-tile bingo and +50 for using all 8 tiles at once. The bonus stacks on top of your normal word score.
Can I play against friends?
Yes. Use the "Play a Friend" mode in any variant to create a private room and share the join link. Async play is supported — each player has 24 hours per turn, so you can run a game across multiple days without staying online together.
Is there a mobile app?
The full game runs in mobile browsers including Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. No app download needed. Add puzz.com to your home screen for a PWA experience with offline leaderboard caching.
